I’m not quite sure what to expect of the trails – will they be to my taste? will they be too hard/easy for me?
There is quite literally something for everyone on the “freeride scale”, from those who ride All-Mountain 6” front and rear bikes, to the out and out DH racers (and of course everyone in between !). All of the courses head downhill without much pedal power required, but because of the variety of terrain, each rider tends to have his/her favourite trail depending on taste (e.g. some of the trails have a slightly more natural / singletrack feel and other trails are an out-and-out berm- and drop-fest)
What condition are the trails in? Are there loads of braking bumps?
Pila has a well manned and highly enthusiastic trail-building and maintenance team who ensure that the trails stay in A1 condition all summer long
Where can I fly to?
Turin is the closest airport (1 hour away from Pila / Aosta) and Geneva is the second closest (2 hours away). We can usually organise transfers to and from both airports (Turin: £15 each way, Geneva: £20 each way)
How do I get there by car and how long will it take?
Aosta / Pila is an hour further from the UK than Chamonix. The general route from Calais is: Calais – Reims – Troyes – Dijon – Geneva – Chamonix – Mt.Blanc Tunnel - Aosta. This is likely to take 8 - 10 hours from Calais.
