Epic Downhill DH Crosscountry XC Mountain Biking Holidays in Les Arcs in the heart of the French Alps trailAddiction

Our Team

Ash

His unusual infatuation with 1:25000 maps generally comes in handy for Ash, in his role as trailAddiction chief trailfinder (he always knew it would come in useful some day!) If the trail exists, you can guarantee Ash has ridden it. And if it doesn't exist, more often than not, he'll cut a path through the undergrowth and keep going, until it does! Many years of Alpine riding experience, including expeditions such as riding the entire length of the GR5 from Lake Geneva to Nice (550 Km) mean he can certainly handle a bike on the most technical of routes. But at the end of a hard day on the trails, mention the word "pub" and you'll never be short of a drinking mate with Ash around.

Ali

Alistair

An uncanny ability to destroy a shiny new bike in a matter of weeks hasn't yet dissuaded Alistair from continuing on his quest to ride as many Alpine miles as possible in one lifetime. If you have an energy to keep going for days on end, then our resident Geordie is your man. He's equally happy sessioning the most hardcore of descents or the most lung-busting xc-epics. Just don't let him carry your packed lunch for you - his human dustbin tendencies might have him scoff the lot before you even get a look-in!

Melissa

One of these days, this girl is gonna hurt herself! Don't let her sweet canadian country girl looks fool you, she'll embarrass the best of us when it comes to getting down sweet singletrack in a hurry. However, the woman's touch often does well to balance the testosterone-charged antics that are inevitable out here on the trails, and when you do push it that bit too far, and end up hurting yourself, Mel will always be around to kiss it better for you! For our girlie-rider weeks, the all-girl groups, led by Mel, have the unique opportunity to rip up the trails whilst simultaneosuly discussing the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine :-).

Ben

Ben

We first met Ben as one of our guests way back in 2002. Returning every season since then, Ben's enthusiasm and sheer natural ability to both ride a bike well and lead a group superbly meant we simply had to get him on the team. Ben comes with a bit of a health warning - we don't recommend you try some of the drops and jumps this guy will do without a second thought, unless you have a bit of a screw lose yourself - or at least an extremely good health insurance policy!

Sophie and Gordon

Sophie and Gordon

Our friendly chalet hosts at The Goat Shed are no strangers to the Alpine life, having spent over 15 consecutive seasons in the region so far. Extreme Skiing, paragliding and all manner of other sports are on their list for the off-season, although during the summer months they have little time for much else other than cooking for, and looking after our guests! If there is anything you want to know about the local area, from history to geography, where the best bars are, or where to go to try out another non-biking activity, between them they are sure to know the answer.

Sami and James

Our resident chalet hosts in Edelweiss are also Alpine veterans, having worked in chalets together for three winter seasons. Now permanent residents of the area Sami and James are both keen mountain bikers, climbers and general adrenaline junkies. As well as experienced chefs and hosts, they will keep you entertained, comfortable and most importantly well-fed during your stay in Les Arcs!
